ake Harms has taken computer recycling to a whole new level-and for that, we thank him. He purchases non-working Macs from local recyclers and repurposes them into happy homes for your favorite underwater friends. His process involves disassembling the Mac, installing a custom made tank, light and filter, and buffing the case until it looks like new.


One of my first experiences with Mary Karr’s memoir Lit came through a conversation I had the occasion of bending my ear toward. (Okay, I was eavesdropping.) One of the two discussing it summed up her assessment with, “I’m not sure what the point was,” which, after reading of the book’s many awards, simply made me more curious.


It’s always an exciting feeling when the magazine comes back from press and we’re able to hold all the creativity, hard-work, and passion of our staff right in our hands on thick, glossy pages. And this issue may just be our favorite one yet!
