I had the opportunity to interview 5 of the Top 10 contestants from Season 9 of American Idol while on Tour in Duluth, GA, August 1, 2010 (more…)

The American Idol Tour has not only the economy challenges to worry about but has been tagged by the media and negative Nellies as the Season that doesn’t have the goods that past Seasons have had. Once it has been repeated a few times, the perception becomes fact.

Breaking news: SEASON 9 IS JUST FINE AND THERE WILL BE SEVERAL BREAK-OUT HIT RECORDS from this group of Idols!

Immediately after Lee DeWyze was crowned the Season 9 American Idol winner, I headed outside of the Nokia Theatre to the Affiliate Tent, where the Idol contestants, excluding the runner-up and winner, were being interviewed by the media.

The Super Bowl equivalent on American Idol is the Finale, where not only is the new winner crowned but group numbers and duets are performed by the contestants alongside musical legends and soon-to-be legends.

It’s with a heavy heart that I am writing this recap of The Top 3 Results’ show on Season 9 of American Idol.
Tuesday night, as my family watched Casey James, Crystal Bowersox and Lee DeWyze perform on American Idol, I told my 10-year-old son that I was hoping Casey would make it through into the Finale, despite the favoritism shown to the other two contestants.

Top 3 Performance Night on Season 9 of American Idol had Casey James, Crystal Bowersox and Lee Dewyze singing two songs each, one of their choosing and one that the judges selected.

On the Road to Coming Home!

Part 1: Southern hospitality reigns supreme in Dallas, Texas and the surrounding areas. Lynae Lane, who lives in Saginaw, Texas arranged for me to fly to Dallas Thursday evening as soon as it was confirmed that Casey James, of Cool, Texas had made the Top 3 on Season 9 of American Idol.

Then there were 3! We are down to the Top 3 on Season 9 of American Idol after the painful cut of Mike Lynche at #4. Only the Top 3 qualify for the coveted “Homecoming Visit” and Mike really wanted to bring it home to St. Petersburg, Florida.

Top 4 week on Season 9 of American Idol was an interesting one. Not to sound like a broken record but song choice is critical and at this stage of the game, it is even more critical. The contestants were battling for the coveted Top 3, which includes a special homecoming visit to the their hometown.

I was missing in action during the Top 5 Result’s Show Wednesday night because I was watching Country Music’s Entertainer of the Year and Season 4 American Idol winner, Carrie Underwood, in concert at the Pensacola Civic Center. Opening for Carrie were Sons of Sylvia and Craig Morgan. I had the choice of seeing them on Tuesday in Tallahassee or Wednesday in Pensacola.
