The Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation is excited to announce a new event, Blind Wine Voyage, to be held from 6:00 -9:00 p.m. on Thursday September 30th, upon SunQuest Cruise’s SOLARIS yacht. The event is a Blind Wine Tasting competition with all proceeds benefiting DCWAF’s 11 local children’s charities.
The cost is $25 per person plus 3 bottles of exact same red wine per team. Each team may consist of 1-3 people.
Blind Wine Voyage gives all wine lovers, from a boxed wine gurus to a master sommelier, the opportunity to taste a variety of red wines and get “corked” for a cause: Benefiting Children in Need.
How it Works: Teams of 1-3 people will bring a three matching bottles of red wine. The first two bottles will be collected, disguised, and set out for tasting and voting. Then, attendees will have the opportunity to compete and vote in this “blind wine” contest.
Each team’s third bottle is set aside unopened to later be awarded as the “Grand Prize” to the winner of the blind wine tasting. So teams, choose your entry carefully. One lucky sailor’s going home with over 40 bottles of wine!
Check in begins at 6:00 p.m. and the SOLARIS will depart from the dock of Baytown Marina, Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort at 7:00 sharp. Arrive early to insure you don’t get left behind. From 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. the blind tasting and voting takes place. Votes are counted at 8:30 p.m., and the winners the blind wine contest are announced at 9:00 p.m.
