VIE’s First Animal Issue Benefiting Alaqua Animal Refuge

We couldn’t be more delighted to feature this organization and founder Laurie Hood as our Animal Issue cover story, and in honor of the great work they are doing, VIE will donate 10 percent of its advertisement sales revenue for this issue to Alaqua Animal Refuge. The weekend kicks off with the Gala at 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 1 at the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa. The popular golf tournament follows on Sunday, March 2, at Kelly Plantation Golf course with a noon tee time.

This Thanksgiving, Harbor Docks, their tirelessly hardworking staff, along with support of the Destin community, over 200 volunteers, and the dedication of Charles Morgan, fed 1,475 people a free Thanksgiving dinner. Proceeds from the day broke the record of the most successful Thanksgiving hosted by Harbor Docks to date raising $20,565 for the Okaloosa County Habitat for Humanity and Destin Harvest.


On Thursday, November 28, from 11 am – 7 pm Harbor Docks invites family, friends, locals and tourists to join the celebration and enjoy a traditional, home-style Thanksgiving Day meal. In an effort to help eliminate substandard local living conditions, Charles Morgan III, owner of Harbor Docks, partners with Okaloosa Habitat for Humanity and Destin Harvest to serve the feast.


The campaign aims for more than 2,000 events across America the first weekend of November, calling Christians to adoption, foster care and global orphan ministry.


During this event, you can take part in the Wine Tasting, the Silent & Live Auctions, and taste fantastic Seasonal Cuisines prepared by local Celebrity Chefs!


American Cancer Society volunteers will be hosting their annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer (MSABC) event for the entire Emerald Coast on Saturday, October 26, 9:00 a.m. at the Village Baptist Church on Matthews Boulevard in Destin. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m.


Philanthropists and art collectors from South Walton and abroad gathered at Justin Gaffrey’s Studio–Gallery in Blue Mt. Beach on scenic Highway 30-A last night for the ART of Giving event and culmination of an online silent auction featuring over one hundred of Gaffrey’s paintings.


Special event and five course dinner at Alys Beach’s Caliza Restaurant and pool to benefit Sacred Heart and Susan G. Komen Foundation.


Justin Gaffrey, Beachy Beach 30A and Summer House Lifestyle are teaming up to present a one-of-kind silent art auction soiree on Thursday, September 26th at 6:30pm to benefit Food For Thought, a Walton County-based non-profit that provides healthy food to local children in need. Tickets for ART of Giving are $75 in advance and $100 at the door.
